  • Semester hours: 2.0
  • Credits: 2.5
  • Type: PV Research Seminar
  • Format: Blended Learning

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to independently implement special tasks in geomatics in the form of computer programs in the Python programming language. The students learn the approach to complex tasks starting with the problem definition, the choice of suitable algorithms and program structures up to the code-technical implementation.

Subject of course

  • Analysis of complex geomatic tasks
  • Division into subtasks (modularization)
  • Choice of suitable algorithms
  • Introduction to integrated development environments
  • Source code management
  • Implementation of geomatic algorithms

Teaching methods

  • Privatissimum
  • Personal support in the approach
  • Support in the use of development tools
  • Individual assistance with the creation of Python program code

Mode of examination

Examination modalities

  • Presentation of the developed software program by the student
  • Defense of the work in the form of a hand-in discussion
