After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

• perform power analyses to estimate a suitable sample size apriori;
• implement and test a mobile GIS based on the Android platform in a given project context;
• design, plan and conduct a HCI-experiment using a mobile GIS as well as conduct adequate statistical tests, including bootstrapping.

The topics covered in this lab are closely related to those presented in the lecture (see there for an overview). However, at the beginning of the semester two lab sessions will focus on Android programming and localisation in Android.  Students are required to submit a project work at the beginning of week 14; while autonomous project work is of major importance for this lab, a doctoral student will help to solve issues arising on a regular basis during the lab sessions.

The labs will be held in the GIS laboratory when necessary
