Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to solve examples related to the field of Satellite Geodesy on their own. They also learn how to reasses, check, and present their solutions.

Subject of course

Examples concerning the following topics will be discussed and solved:

  • transformations
  • equations of motions
  • calculation of satellite orbits under the consideration of perturbation theory
  • Earth's gravity field
  • space geodetic techniques
  • satellite orbits (e.g., orbit transfer, specific satellite orbits)

Teaching methods

The examples will be discussed and then solved in groups of two. At the beginning of every exercise, the theory of the previous example will be presented by the students.
