Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to solve exercises regarding astronomical coordinate systems, Earth gravity field, reference ellipsoid and satellite orbits. Examples are coordinate transformations or gravity reductions.

Subject of course

Examples following the contents of the lectures 'Introduction to Higher Geodesy I' and 'Introduction to Higher Geodesy II' will be discussed and solved. They form the mathematical basis of Astronomy and Higher Geodesy.

Teaching methods

During the exercises exampels are solved together and the theoretical backround is recapitulated.
