After successful completion of the course, students are able to explain calculations on the reference ellipsoid, transform ellipsoidal to natural coordinates, explain the datum for the Austrian surveying, calculate simple satellite orbits, and explain space geodetic techniques and reference frames with their realisations.
Reference ellipsoids and natural coordinates, satellite geodesy, space geodetic techniques, reference systems and frames
During the oral examination, which takes about 20 minutes, students have to answer questions in a conversation. Eventually, it is necessary that the students draw sketches.
Exemplary questions are provided in Tuwel.
There are lecture notes for the lecture Introduction to Higher Geodesy available (parts I and II together). They can be bought at the TU Verlag (Freihaus, ground floor, red area). A new version (SS 23) will be available in the beginning of March 23.
