After successful completion of the course, students are able to carry out transformations between astronomical coordinate systems and different time systems, to explain conservative force fields and to interpret height systems.
Mathematical and astronomical basics of Higher Geodesy, Earth orientation and time systems, potential theory and Earth gravity field, height systems
During the oral examination, which takes about 20-25 minutes, students have to answer questions in a conversation. Eventually, it is necessary that the students draw sketches. Exemplary questions are provided in Tuwel.
Usually, oral exams take place every second Monday per month in the afternoon. Please contact the lecturer per email with the request for a date.
There are lecture notes for the lecture Introduction to Higher Geodesy available (parts I and II together). They can be bought at the TU Verlag (Freihaus, ground floor, red area). A new version (SS 23) will be available in the beginning of March.
