After successful completion of the course, students are able to select suitable remote sensing data for different tasks in urban areas and forestry, to apply the requried algorithms for deriving the results, and to interpret and validated the obtained results.
Theoretical introduction in a few specific topics, such as, for example, applications of remote sensing data in urban environment and in forestry. Thereafter, work on your own by carrying out practical examples in the two afore mentioned fields. Final presentation of the results, including discussion. Technical report, which describes in details the practical work.
Handouts (slides, additional text documents, references to publications, etc) will be provided via TUWEL.
Basic knowledge in remote sensing, photogrammtry including laser scanning and digital image processing (for example Bachelor programme "Geodesy & Geoinformatics Egnineering": Obligatory Module "Basics in photogrammetry and remote sensing", Elective Module "Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing"; Master programme "Geodesy & Geoinformation Sciences": Introduction to Earth Observation, Point Cloud Processing). No further prerequisites!
