Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to assess new developments in the fields

of global satellite navigation systems (GNSS) as well as regional overlay systems (SBAS).

In addition, the application of products of local GNSS services and global GNSS-data services will be

conveyed.

 

Subject of course

 

Status and perspectives of global satellite navigation systems (GPS,Galileo, GLONASS, Beidou),

GNSS static point positioning in real time and post-processing, GNSS error modelling,

GNSS reference station networks for RTK positioning, exchange formats,

GNSS services /service provider/ and products (e.g. IGS and EUREF/EPN.

 

Teaching methods

Learning contents will be delivered via power-presentations and discussed with regards to content.

The lectures will be complemented by presentations of current research carried out at the

the FB Höhere Geodäsie in the fields of RTK- and PPP-positioning.

The lecture will be assessed by a final oral exam.

Major topics to be reviewed are status and new developments of global GNSS,

GNSS signals, IGS, EUREF, GNSS-Reference Frames,

GNSS-error modelling, RTK- and PPP Positioning,

EGNOS.
