After successful completion of the course, students are able to explain ionospheric and tropospheric effects on space geodetic techniques as well as appropriate modelling techniques, atmospheric loading effects, and the effect of the atmosphere on Earth rotation.
Geodetic and atmospheric background, ionospheric effects on microwave signals, path delays in the neutral atmosphere, atmospheric pressure loading, atmospheric effects on gravity space missions, atmospheric effects on Earth rotation.
Oral exam of about 20 to 25 minutes. Discussion of three topics with a focus on the understanding of the fields and not on repetition of equations.
Die Prüfung ist in Präsenz geplant, pandemiebedingte Änderungen können jedoch nicht ausgeschlossen werden.
There are powerpoint slides, which can be downloaded in Tiss and which cover all topics of the lecture. Additionally, for further reading, there is a book.
