Practical experience with mobile GIS applications

Discussion of detailed questions on mobile applications

The class will not be held in WS16/17. It will be held the next time in WS17/18.

The following is a list of techniques that you should use. Your final grade will depend the amount and quality of their implementation, the final presentation of the project and its technical report.

Basic

• Using Location
• Using an external service or external data (GET/POST request)
• Using a non-relational data store
• Implement Syncronization
• Using a non-default theme for jQuery Mobile
• Using Attachments in Couchdb and/or Pouchdb (read & write)
• Using media sensors (ambient light, picture, sound, ...)
• Implementing a map with elements (marker, position, symboles, etc ...)
• APIs used comply with different browsers (and these APIs have to be different for different browsers in the first place)

Advanced

• Using the Google App Engine Datastore
• Using GeoCouch / Spatial Index
• Using another (or an additional) UI framework than jQuery Mobile
