After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

• explain the problem of the geodetic datum including approaches to solutions,
• to discuss the determination of the quality of geodetic work,
• to explain the prinziples  von robust estimation and selected methods,
• to transfer the principles of adjustment computation, statistics and geodetic datum determination to other questions of geodesy,
• to explain concepts such as auto-/cross-correlation, collocation, and regression, and
• to describe the tasks and methods of geostatistics.

Optimization and analysis of geodetic networks; robust estimation; adjustment computations for transformation parameters; stochastic processes; interpolation; regression and collocation; geostatistics.

Lecture with reference to practice based on case studies

In winter term 2021/22 the lecture will be held mainly via distance learning. The first two meetings are planned in presence, but will also be accessible via Zoom. The following Zoom-room will be used:

The organisation of the remaining meetings will depend on feedback from the participants and the development of the Covid pandemia (resp. on the demands of the university). The presentations will be live.

Oral examination of theoretical knowledge (focus on interrelations, less on explicit formula knowledge)
