After successful completion of the course, students are able to plan and conduct an interdisciplinary project in Geosciences by applying their knowledge and techniques acquired within their course of study.
Two projects are proposed:1. Height Determination Hohe Wand (Higher Geodesy + Geophysics).Tasks:
2. Generation of a BIM-model for the area of the department in the Freihaus (Photogrammetry + Engineering Geodesy)Tasks:
For both projects:
independent organization and conduction of scientific measurements
Several topics for student projects are offered aiming at solving a particular “real-life” problem in Geosciences. The projects are distributed within small teams of students. For each topic there is a supervisor that explains the main objectives and the suggested methods (from those learnt through the studies) to fulfill them. The students should organize and manage their time and efforts to reach the objectives. At the end of the semester, each team submits a report describing the methodology deployed and the main results. The final grade is based on the evaluation of the report and a final presentation at the end of the semester.
