After successful completion of the course, students are able to discretize some properties of smooth curves and surfaces. They are further able to create models of these discrete curves and surfaces with the computer.
Selected Topics in theory and practice of discrete curves and surfaces (d.g. curvature of discrete curves, frames for discrete curves, discrete surfaces as quad or triangular meshes, curvature of discrete surfaces, conjugated nets, discrete Koenigs nets, discrete isothermic surfaces, discrete minimal surfaces, ...).
Lecture with examples
There will be an oral exam at the end of the cours.
Previous knowledge of differential geometry is not necessary, but usefull.
