Aim of course

To get acquainted with the basic terms and concepts of probability theory and statistics and to be able to apply this knowledge in problem solving¿

Subject of course

Probabilty Spaces, distributions with application to statistical tests and estimators, measure theoretic foundations of probability theory, independence and conditional probability, distribution functions,random variables, Lebesgue-Stieltjes-integral and expectation, comparison of Riemann and Lebesgue-integral

This course is equivalent to " Measure and Probability Theory I". Further details will be explained in the first lesson Wed, 2nd March 2011.
