After successful completion of the course, students are able to

• to search for and find relevant scientific literature
• comprehend and assess scientific work in the fields of Operations Research and Control Systems
• work scientifically partially under supervision partly independently

Our scientific working group deals with various problems in Operations Research/Management Science and Control Systems. Lots of new questions frequently appear when research work is going on. As there will never be enough wo/manpower to answer all of them, the institute offers students to participate in its research activities: the "AKOR Project in Operations Research" (five hours a week). Some current topics are listed at our Web-Sever (http://orcos.tuwien.ac.at/research/); for additional topics contact Haunschmied, Kovacevic, Tragler, or Veliov. Successfully finished works will be presented at the institute Web-Server or even submitted to scientific journals.
