Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to formulate and model static and dynamic optimization problems, parameterize partly those models with empirical data, and to solve the problems with appropriate Operations Research methods.

Subject of course

Formulation and modelling of static and dynamic optimization problems. Parametrization partly with empirical data. Solution of the problems with appropriate Operations Research methods (e.g. linear programming, nonlinear programming, dynamic programming, optimal control theory). (Economic) interpretation of the solutions obtained. Sensitivity analyses.
