After successful completion of the course, students are able to

• provide an overview of social security,
• present insurance benefits in the individual branches (health insurance, accident insurance, pension insurance),
• discuss current questions about pension insurance and
• carry out pension calculations.

The first part gives a review over social security law. The second part shows the insurance benefits of the particular brances (health, accident and pension insurance). In the third part goes into detail about actual issues of pension insurance, especially in calcuation of pensions.

The basic contents and concepts are presented by the head of the LVA and illustrated and discussed with the help of examples.

The performance is assessed by an examination at the end of the semester.
