After successful completion of the course, students are able to solve problems of applied geometry. The students know how to implement and apply the basic algorithms of computational geometry. The students have advanced knowledge in computer aided geometric design (B-spline curves and surfaces) and are able to implement simple geometric optimization problems.
Interpolation and approximation of discrete point data; Freeform curves and surfaces; Bezier curves; B-spline curves; rational Beziercurves; tensor product surfaces; curve fitting; triangulations; Voronoi diagram and Delaunay triangulation; convex hull.
Students are given an introduction to the programming language python and have to solve exercises at home.
The final grade is determined equally by the following three factors:
However, each category must be positive to get a positive grade in the end.
