After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

• deal with vectors and matrices appropriately
• solve geometric problems (i.e. angle, area and volume related problems) using vector calculus
• perform coordinate transformations
• handle eigenvalue / eigenvector problems
• calculate surface integrals and curve integrals
• differentiate and integrate functions in several variables
• solve simple types of differential equations

Linear algebra, differential and integral calculus of functions of several real variables, ordinary differential equations and systems of linear differential equations, vector calculus.

Lecture of the content, presentation of examples, discussion of questions by students

Parallel to this course an associated course (104.300 Mathematics 2 for MB, WIMB and VT) takes place, in which the students deal intensively with the content of the course and independently solve tasks.

Start: Monday, 2.3.2020
The 4-hour lecture will be held as a 5-hour lecture until the beginning of June. The lecture therefore ends in the beginning of June. This opens up the possibility to take the exam in mid-June.

The exam consists of a written part. For a detailed description of the examination modus see the homepage of the Institute.

Since there are not enough seats in the lecture hall, the lecture will be streamed live through TUWEL. You have to register to be able to see the stream. It is also possible to see the stream of the previous lectures starting a few days later.
