After successful completion of the course, students are able to master the basis of the theories of nonlinear and linearized elasticity with techniques from Calculus of Variations and nonlinear analysis.
Equations of 3D elasticity, existence results, properties of solutions, passage from nonlinear to linearized elasticity. if time permits: mathematical modeling of thin structures.
