Aim of course

The participants get in touch with a recent active research topic in numerical mathematics. The lecture might serve as the starting point for the diploma thesis or even a related dissertation.

Subject of course

Time-dependent micromagnetic phenomena are usually modeled by the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation (LLG) which is nonlinear parabolic equation with geometric side-constraint. After the phenomenological modeling of LLG, we shall discuss existence (but non-uniqueness) of solutions of LLG as well as convergent numerical integrators.
