After successful completion of the course, students are able to talk about and explain recent topics of partial differential equations, in particular dissipative and dispersive phenomena.
Moreover, they are able to give insight in modern questions of research and to give intelligible talks
about their own research.
Diffusive and dispersive effects in nonlinear partial differential equations, including e.g. diffusive quantum models, reaction-diffusion equations, financial models, Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equations, Schroedinger equations, Camassa-Holm equations, Maxwell equations, and Wigner equations
Expert scientists and PhD-students will give weekly talks. The students prepare a talk about their research and present it to the plenum. They receive a feedback from the participants afterwards.
Takes place online via Zoom on Wednesdays between 14:00 ad 16:00 hrs.Pls ask Mr. Portisch for the link if you are interested in taking part.
This seminar is obligatory for the PhD students of the Doctoral School "Dissipation and dispersion of nonlinear partial differential equations"; other PhD students are invited to participate
Regular participation, presentation, participation in discussions.
