After successful completion of the course, students are able to talk about and explain recent topics of partial differential equations, in particular dissipative and dispersive phenomena. Moreover, they are able to give insight in modern questions of research to give intelligible talks about their own research.
Diffusive and dispersive effects in nonlinear partial differential euqations, including e.g. diffusive quantum models, reaction-diffusion equations, financial models, Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equations, Schroedinger equations, Camassa-Holm equations, Maxwell equations, and Wigner equations.
Expert scientists and PhD-students will give weekly talks. The students prepare a talk about their research and present it to the plenum. They receive a feedback from the participants afterwards.
This seminar is obligatory for the PhD students of the SFB 65. Other PhD students are invited to participate.
The seminar takes place on Wednesdays, 14:00 - 16:00, start: 06.03.2024.In the summer semester 2024 most of the seminars will take place at the University of Vienna (Oskar-Morgenstern-Platz 1, 1090 Vienna, ground floor, HS 2).
The exact places, dates and times are normally announced one week before at https://bit.ly/PDE_afternoon
