In the lecture basic concepts of data processing and numerical algorithms will be addressed. Students learn about the use of available software. In particular, students will gain the ability to judge the dependability and precision of the numerical solution.
Basic error concepts: condition of mathematical problems, data error, discretization error, round-off error. Numerical solution of linear and nonlinear systems of equations, numerical differentiation and integration, polynomial interpolation and approximation, numerical solution of differential equation.
