Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to master the content mentioned below and thus basic algorithms of numerical mathematics. They have a basic knowledge of assessing the efficiency and accuracy of numerical algorithms and their implementation on computers.

Subject of course

Main topics of the course are:

  • interpolation and approximiation
  • quadrature (numerical integration)
  • iterative techniques for systems of linear and nonlinear equations
  • solving of Eigenvalue problems
  • stability and condition
  • computer artihmetic

Teaching methods

Lecture on the theoretical basics and the practical and algorithmic aspects of the teaching content.
