Teaching methods

The course takes place online using the e-learning environment ELF (elf.phil.muni.cz)

powered by Moodle. The students work independently in the course and must meet the

deadlines which are well-known in advance. The course comprises different kinds of texts

and videos related to university education and international mobilities. Students are also

expected to contribute regularly to the discussion fora and to submit assignments; they will

receive individualised feedback to their assignments from the teachers.

Assessment methods

There is no written exam at the end of the course. To successfully complete this course and

receive credits it is necessary to do all the obligatory assignments and tasks. Students are

allowed to leave out one topic.

The topics have a 'two week' format; the students will be required to proceed as follows:

Week 1

a) The students read the course materials and complete the tasks and assignments by

the required deadline. When completing automatically marked tasks, the students

must get at least the 60 % passing score. If not, they must do the task again.

b) The students contribute to the forum as instructed, e.g. they answer a question,

contribute to the discussion with their own materials, find appropriate additional

material online, etc. The teachers will read these materials and provide feedback.

The aim is to get the "accepted" submission status for assignments. If the submission

status reads „review and re-submit“, the students must revise the assignment based

on teachers‘ notes and comments and submit a revised version (Week 2).

Week 2

a) The students must complete the tasks and assignments by the required deadline.

b) They read their coursemates’ contributions and additional materials and react to them

as necessary.

c) They revise their assignments based on the feedback provided by the teachers and

re-submit them.
