After successful completion of the course, students are able to describe diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in nuclear medicine. Studennts furthermore get to know medicinally used radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals, as well as common labeling procedures.

Basics of radiopharmaceutical sciences, methods in nuclear medicine (diagnostic methods PET SPECT, therapeutic methods, experimental methods), PET radioisotopes and their chemistry (fluorine-18, carbon-11, gallium-68,..), SPECT radioisotopes and their chemistry (technetium-99m), therapeutic radioisotopes and their chemistry (iodine-131, lutetium-177, alpha emitters), quality control of radiopharmaceuticals, development of radiopharmaceuticals (from target to tracer), molecular imaging in drug development
