After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the Austrian legal situation concerning antidiscrimination at the workplace. Students are also familiar with selectefd examples of jurisdiction.
The course deals with legal framework regulating the working life with respect to non-discrimination, equal treatment and equal opportunities.The sessions are divided into the following topics:- racial and ethnic origin- gender- religion and world view- sexual orientation- age- disability
Particular attention is paid to the historical origins and developments of each topic and linking them with issues of everyday life in Austria. In discussions, there will be the possibility to reflect own experiences and share different perspectives.
The course will be held in the form of a seminar. There is compulsory attendance. The individual chapters are presented and then discussed in group discussions.
The proof of performance is done by compulsory attendance (5 out of 6 modules have to be attended) as well as active participation in the group discussions
