Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to present research results, scientific content, diploma theses and act out in a short video. Students know how to design and produce videos, apply basic stylistic devices and utilise both verbal and non-verbal communication to achieve specific aims.

Subject of course

Basics of film design: camera angle and range, positioning of characters and objects, effects of lighting and colour, spatial representation in the frame, modes of editing, dramaturgy, development of synopsis, treatment and screenplay, production planning and time management. Appearance of characters: positioning and viewing direction of presentators and interview partners. Value of verbal and non-verbal communication. Techniques of film analysis.

Teaching methods

Presentation of film design basics. Picture design tutorial. Interview and presentation rehearsals. Film analysis. Guidance to develop synopsis, treatment and screenplay. Production of a short video. Discussion and feedback.
