Aim of course

Teaching professional skills (soft skills) for responsible, creative and active engineers (male and female) for industry and business (communication, team spirit, leadership, responsibility)

Subject of course

The lecture addresses three aspects of creativity:

  1. Creativity in individuals: Influence of intelligence, personality and perception on creativity. Definition of creativity, methods to unfold creativity
  2. Creativity in teams: Team performance (What is a team? How can geographically distributed, intercultural and interdisciplinary teams work efficiently?) - Idea generation in teams: how do creativity techniques work and can a team make use of them?   
  3. Creativity in Organizations: From a creative idea to innovation - how can a creative idea be implemented successfully? How can an idea be marketed?

This is a an interactive lecture where the participants are expected to actively get involved in discussions.  

About the lecturers:  

Hesamedin Ostad-Ahmad-Ghorabi has been a researcher at TU Wien for more than 10 years. His field of research contained sustainable product development and creative engineering as well as setting up industrial cooperations in Austria. In 2011 he went to Germany to work in the automotive sector. He had lead the development of interior parts of various car projects. He has been head of department for engineering projects in the automotive sector and responsible for more than 50 engineers. Currently, he is the head of the Center of Competence for Process Planning and doing projects in the field of automotive assembly lines.

Jutta Jerlich: Specialization in innovation technology enhancing learning processes in industry, higher education, lifelong learning and talent management. Expertise: Online Learning and Teaching, Development of online applications, Implementation of knowledge management system, R&D, European Project Funding, Innovation and Business Development, International Marketing, Project Development and Coaching.
