After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the basic technical terms in  Chinese ( from areas such as mathmatics,chemsitry, physics, biology, computer science, etc.). After learning the structure of Chinese characters, the students in this course can also deduce the meaning and the pronounciation of many chemical elements in Chinese.  Further, with the help of an e-Dictionary and on line translation programs, the students are able to read and to translate simple technical news, so that they can gather the information about technical developements and important projects in Chinese speaking areas.

Basic Chinese grammar and vocabulary will be further introduced. Using dicctionaries and translation programms students will also work on easy scienticfic and technical articles. Special topics will be arranged according to the interests of the course participants, for example, environmental problems in China, energy stituation, Yanzet Damm, modern Chinese architechture, Chinese Space Project.

Grammar-Translation Method will be applied to this language course.  Through explanation of the Grammar and the excercises of the translation, the students will acquire the pasive reading skills.  Grammar and vocabulary excercises serve as methods to help to understand Chinese texts.  Based on the first year course, further 200 basic Chinese characters will be learned to be  recognized,
