Introduction to the boundary element method and efficient numerical treatment of which

Subject of course

(1) Equivalent formulation of an elliptic PDE in form of a boundary integral equation (2) Sobolev spaces on the boundary (3) Galerkin discretization of the arrising boundary integral equation (so-called boundary element method) (4) Advantages and Disadvantages of the boundary element method if compared to the usual finite element method (5) Efficient treatment of the stiffness matrix by use of H-matrix techniques
